Gah.Max Payne is a third-person shooter video game developed by Remedy Entertainment and published by Gathering of Developers in July 2001 for Microsoft Windows.

Like really, this isn't fun, this is just punishment. I can pick seven or eight scenes in the game where I really just wonder WTF they were thinking when they were playtesting it. The entire game I felt like I was screwing up and continuously losing my painkillers in some sort of crappy "dude shot me in the side of the head" BS moment, or I'd get stuck in one of many "epic battles" and just continuously die until the game decided to take pity on me and respawn me with more painkillers and less initial damage, then I'd just squeak through the end of the battle alive.Īnd there are two or three difficulty levels above the one I played!!

It's nice to see Rockstar got the spirit of Max Payne down correctly. I loved MP1 and MP2, as well as Remedy's Alan Wake. I don't know if this is an old enough game to reeeeeally qualify for Patient Gamers, but I figure since I waited until it went on sale for 50% off that's patience enough for me :)įirst of all: I thought the game was pretty awesome. I just finished playing Max Payne 3 on the 'medium' difficulty.
